As the Corrib Gas project enters a critical phase www.corribgas.net will provide a quality, fact-based, independent source of information about all aspects of the conflict and will serve as a media watchdog, monitoring press coverage elsewhere.

The website is coordinated by Michael McCaughan, an Irish journalist who has written a book on the subject; ‘The Price of our Souls; Shell, Gas Mayo’ (Afri 2008) and co wrote a pamphlet, ‘The Great Gas Giveaway’ (Afri 2009).

McCaughan also wrote ‘True Crimes’, a biography of Rodolfo Walsh, an Argentinian revolutionary of Irish descent (LAB 2002) and ‘The Battle of Venezuela’, (Seven Stories Press 2005), outlining the changes underway under the Hugo Chavez administration.

His next book, ‘The United States Vs Mumia Abu Jamal’ is an account of a miscarriage of justice involving a death row inmate in Pennsylvania, USA. (December 2009)

McCaughan worked as a freelance correspondent for the Irish Times in Latin America and has also worked with RTE, the Guardian, Sunday Tribune, Hot Press, the San Francisco Chronicle and the Sunday Telegraph.
